Jaap Robben
Jaap Robben (1984) is a poet, novelist and columnist. His work has received numerous awards, his novels are being made into films and his work is published in thirteen languages by now.
A true performer, Jaap is a frequent guest on radio and tv and loves to read to audiences all over the world, in Oman, Czech Republic, during the Lirikonfest in Slovenia, The European Literature Night in London and the Festival of National Cultures in Belarus. In 2018, he toured the United States and Canada with Birk, including guest appearances at LitHub in San Francisco, Brooklyn Book Festival, Writers Festival Vancouver and the Boston Book Festival. His novel Summer Brother was nominated for the International Booker Prize in 2021.
His latest novel Afterlight sold 50.000 copies in the first year, won the booksellers’ award in Belgium and has been sold to six other countries so far.
